How to make a book nook

Well, books are very important so I’ll get right to it: here’s how to make an ordinary bookshelf (no offense to what I am sure is a lovely bookcase) extra special. Just what your amazing books deserve.  Throughout the books, intertwine fake flowers so they droop over the edges of the shelves.  Wind some rainbow twinkle lights all over your bookcase.  Display your favorite books on book stands.  Put your favorite tchotchkes between books. Snow globes look great!  Put a vase of real flowers on top, just make sure to replace the water regularly. Set a cushy chair nearby. Decorate it with homemade throw pillows that match the lights.  For pictures, check out my latest craft studio cleaning post. Thanks for reading! Love you all!

Craft Room Cleaning

Make your DREAM craft studio!!!! 1. Leave extra space on your sewing table. For laying out patterns and cutting fabric.  2. Display your homemade clothes on a mannequin. I made this casual winter dress below. One of my friends arm knitted the scarf (thanks mom ❤️).  3.  Make a magical book nook with twinkle lights, fake flowers, and magical tchotchkes!  4. Put some parchment paper in a jar. You can make patterns for clothes out of parchment paper. Display your sewing supplies on a turntable.  5. Fill a craft cart with labeled jars.  6. Pin up loose papers on a bulletin board.  7. I keep all of my theater pamphlets in a shoebox. Such memories! I found a Matilda ticket from when I was nine in here!   8. Find the perfect balance of storage and space on your craft tables.  9. Here’s my book nook again!  10. I set a special reading area up next to my book nook, covered with homemade pillows. Check out that seam! (I’m very proud of that seam. I hope you appreciate it.) 12. Cover your storag

Crazy Cool Card Trick

Who doesn’t love magic? Here’s a magnificent card trick for you to play on your friends and family! It’s also easy to set up, but stumps everyone who receives it.  Take a deck of cards. Take out all the spades and clubs. Make a pile of all spades, and a pile of all clubs.  Flip the decks upside down so you can’t see the face of the cards. Ask your friend to pick a deck, and shuffle it without looking at the cards.  Take the deck from them, spread the cards out, and tell them to pick one.  Then tell your friend to put the card in the other deck, and to shuffle it. This makes your friend believe that you can’t possibly know which card they picked.  Finally, pick up the deck and turn the cards so they face you. Look through the deck to find which one is a club amid the spades, or a spade amid the clubs.  Show the card to your friend, and watch them be AMAZED.

Best Eyeshadow Looks

Here are a few different variants for different occasions.  1. Party, Casual but bold  Start with a dark red just above your eye, in a thin strip. Layer on some chunky gold sparkle eyeshadow, from the top of the red to the end of your eyelid. Pull your eyeshadow brush to the left side of your eyelid, going off in a point. Outline the point in eyeliner, and add a heavy dose of mascara.  2. Ice Queen  Start with a dark blue strip right above your eye. Then do a layer of medium blue, and to finish it off, a thick strip of light blue. Blend the colors into ombrĆ© with your eyeshadow brush. In the corner of your eye, right between your eye and your nose, do a quick dab of sparkly white. Add a layer of light mascara and angle your brows with a brow brush. Make those brows pointed and FIERCE! This is probably my fave look.  3. Natural  A natural look is hard to pull off, but you can brighten your eyes simply with these steps. Start with a nude, a cross between a white and a flesh color. Do th

Valentine Card ideas!

Yes it is the season of love! Are you feeling it? The romance in the air? Yes I am, mostly because my parents kiss in front of me a lot. šŸ˜µ‍šŸ’«šŸ¤¢šŸ¤® But still, it is sweet that two people love each other so much. So let’s celebrate Valentine’s Day with some homemade card ideas below!  1. Origami card: Take a piece of red card stock and cut a square out of it. Fold the square once into a triangle. Unfold and fold once more into a triangle, opposite the first crease. Fold it in half both ways, unfolding in between. Open it up. If you slowly compress the sides, it will pop into an origami model, which you can open and close creating a pop up effect. Cut out some glitter paper into two circles. Cut the edges into a point, making a pizza slice shape šŸ•. Using a glue stick, adhere one piece on the bottom, where it will follow the creases, and one pointing downwards on top. Write messages on the opposite sides. Add some loose glitter inside, as well as a few heart shaped pieces of construction

How to sew a dress!

To me, there are three important factors when making a dress, and three important steps. Here are the factors you need to consider before you get sewing.  1. What fabric are you using?  Make sure that the fabric isn’t to thick to sew through, and isn’t too thin for hand sewing. Pick out a simple fabric for your first project, like a cotton or rayon. As you progress, try using silks and maybe even work some lace or tulle into your project.  2. What tools do you have available?  Would you like to use a sewing machine, or hand sew? If you are using a machine, make sure you know how to thread the bobbin and needle. Go over the manual carefully with an experienced sewer to help you. Keep a box nearby that you can customize with stickers and glitter ✨ and fill it with the things you’ll need when using a sewing machine: empty bobbins, string, the manual, a needle threader.  If you are hand sewing you’ll need some different materials: pins (safety pins work too), a pin cushion, a thimble (so
