How to start a business

It can be so hard and stressful planning a business. So I’ll share with you the simple checklist I use when planning one of my crafting adventures. This has helped me with my blog, my graphic design, my soap shop, and a new party planning idea I’m currently developing.  1. Come up with a name. This is the name that will define your business and draw people in. Be informative, catchy, and as unique as possible. If you use a common name, people will mix up your business with others.  2. Decide what social media to use. You can make a simple (and free) Blogger like I did, or a different website tool. Or you can make an app, establish a presence on Facebook, and more.  3. Plan out the money. This is the most stressful part of business planning in my opinion, but it can be easy if you complete it all at once. If you are trying to sell something (a product or a service), determine the cost using this simple formula. Every hour you’ll dedicate to your business per day is ten dollars. If you

A Nightly Self Care Routine

Image
Here is a great nightly self care routine to make sure you fall asleep nice and early!  1. Sleep with a dog or a different pet. They make you feel safer and like you have nothing to worry about. Also, if you are prone to watching horror movies and don’t want a demented clown to pop out of the toilet in your bathroom mirror, dogs are very good protectors.  2. Watch the sunset 3. Allow yourself to dwell on worries for only five minutes. Write them down if it helps. Then, any more worries you have in the night- tell yourself, I’ll save those for tomorrow’s five minutes.  4. Write down your thoughts.  5. Journal  6. Meditate with calming music.  7. Smell a candle or essential oils.  8. Put on your comfiest pjs  9. Keep a water by your bed.  10. Picture your favorite places, like under the sea.  11. Stay away from high-calorie meals before bed, especially foods containing lots of salt.  12. Brush your teeth and rinse any dental products thoroughly.   13. If you can’t sleep, doodle in bed.

A quick dose of artistic humor

Have a case of the Monday blues? Here is a HUGE post of artsy humor to make you smile.  So, I downloaded an AI tool to help me write poetry. What could go wrong? I typed in the ideas I wanted to use, and watched as the bot slowly crafted my poem. I wasn’t expecting anything much- but it turned out that the results were too marvelous not to post.  This is a poem I attempted to write with the website, called The Artist and the Painter Rhyming Couplet Ideas by me See the painting of the artist, I think he's angry at the chartist. He finds it hard to see the painting, Overshadowed by the sparkly assertiveness training. Who is that sketching near the drawing? I think she'd like to eat the whipsawing. She is but a colorful painter, Admired as she sits upon an entertainer. Her wet car is just a dreaming, It needs no gas, it runs on leming. She's not alone she brings a crafting, a pet unicorn, and lots of rafting. The unicorn likes to chase a hoping, Especially one that's in th

Yep, another painting tutorial! This time I have a pallet with the names of the exact colors I’m using, so it can be easier for you to follow along. Enjoy!   Continue filling in the sea with the blue. We’ll add more detail later. Next, we’re going to work on the sky. Next, blend the colors together. Once you are finished, watch the next video to add the final colors.   After using the technique for the waves I used in the last video, I finished the painting! Look at the photo above to see the technique šŸŒŠ❤️

Sunset beach painting tutorial

After watching the video above, continue using the large brush to spread the paint evenly on the canvas. Wipe your brush in between painting the sea and the sky.  Now we’re going to add the final touches šŸ˜‰. And don’t worry if you got a hair in yours like I did! That’s just what happens when you craft and have long hair. ❤️

30 things to do once you are BACK to school

Image
We just had a post on what to do before school, and part 2 has arrived to show that the fun just continues even back at school!  1. No matter what the circumstances of your school life are, make the most of them. Like a year ago when everyone was wearing masks, tie dye your own! So tie dye the metaphorical mask of your school year and really make the most of it.   2. Realize you are a warrior, who can endure anything. Hard times will come but you are strong enough to make it through.  3. Experiment in your free time- science teachers will thank you.   4. Make a school documentary, as long as you receive consent from any students involved.  5. Treat yourself to a spa day on the weekend. Get your hair done, your nails, the whole thing.  6. Paint wildly. Some school projects won’t be your favorite. Believe me I could take or leave the math worksheets. So when you get the chance, be as creative as you can.  7. Eat healthily.  8. Don’t stop searching for joy, because even though there’s a
