Room Reorganization 3: The Closet
Hi! This is my third Room Makeover post, concerning the closet. Don’t worry fashionistas - your closet will look good in no time!
First, go through all of your clothes. What do you have stuffed in drawers that don’t fit, or that you don’t like?
Donate the things you don’t want anymore, and make piles of the things you want to keep.
The biggest change we made in reorganizing my closet was moving out my old dresser to make more room. Then we moved my shoes to where the dresser used to be, and set the shoe organizer aside for clothes.
On the large shoe rack, we instead filled it with bins of folded clothes. Label the bins!
Fill your favorite bag/tote with a notebook, a pen, some disinfectant, and a wallet. This is your grab-and-go bag that you can just grab on your way out the door, and know you have everything you need! Hang it on the side of the bin-shelf! Line up your clutches on top of the storage unit and place larger bags on the bottom shelf. I love this storage solution because it’s narrow, and can fit in practically any closet type.
Use a smaller shoe rack for your, well, SHOES, and label the shelves. I love this storage idea because it is small and makes good use of floor space, which sometimes goes overlooked. And lastly, my top tip is to HANG EVERYTHING. There’s a reason the end of that sentence was all in caps. When you have clothes pushed in drawers, you never know what you have.
You can organize your hanging clothes by shirts, pants, etc, or you can be a little crazier and organize the individual categories by black to most colorful and short to long.
Don’t forget to label!
Hanging everything is such a good idea!
