Room Makeover 2!

Yes, the long awaited Room Makeover 2 post is here! Sorry for the delay, everyone.

Ok, you have your theme/aesthetic established. Great! Now, I was working on my own room, and I started cleaning as I was redecorating. So I decided to combine both of my posts into one!

I am NOT a minimalist. I like a lot of tchotchkes that bring me joy. But sometimes my crafting room can feel a little cluttered. (A lot cluttered.)

So my motto for my whole reorganization was “how can I make this clutter cute?”

The following post(s) will contain tips for organizing your clutter, adding your own flair to your room #diyroomdecor, tons of photos, and ways to incorporate your own style you figured out by taking my mini-quiz!

Let’s get started, shall we?

First, get a few trash bags. Set one aside for, well, TRASH, and keep the other for donations.

Make sure that your donations are in good shape, and things that you don’t want anymore. Your TRASH trash bag should contain any scraps of things that you don’t need anymore. Broken items should always be trash, not donations.

Also collect some bins. We’ll use them later when we are reorganizing your closet.

This post will be all about organizing and decorating your bedroom and craft area, and the next post will be about the bathroom and the closet.

Keep in mind that all the styles talked about in the previous post will be featured in my organizing, to help your room be personalized to your exact tastes.

Note: This post is organized based on the layout of my room. But feel free to do the tasks in any order you want.

But before you start tidying, we need some awesome music!!! 🎶🎵 💕

Ok, music check.

Let’s start with the door!

First, I set up a cute calendar that matches my personality and aesthetic.

Then I took a fun picture and bordered it with whimsical washi tape that reminds me of my favorite artist, Yayoi Kusama. I took down any excess papers and added my own door sign.

For my bedside table, I used the cute clutter motto. I stacked some notebooks and pencils on one area, in the artistic style, added a cozy lamp, mixed and matched cozy lip balms, and added a little reading sign with a travel themed tchotchke.

Now I want a bed that matches my cute table setup. First I took off all the pillows, blankets and books. Guess how many books I had!

Six books, three notebooks, one diary, a book of paper crafts, three balls of crumpled sketches, and a Christmas ornament got uncovered and put away. So yeah, I needed that tidy.

So, I put the books on the shelves and the notebooks away, with the help of some wonderful family members. I want to thank them for all of their help.

Then I put my current book and a cute bookmark in my storage pillow named Pig. This is my new and improved sleep space!

Use whatever blankets and pillows correspond to your style.

For my desk I made a journal space and decorated my supply station with a travel tchotchke!

Here’s my shelf for antiquarian books! Use a book stand for your favorite!
