Make a Christmas Cyclone

 And other experiments!

Ingredients: baking soda, vinegar, water, oil, green food dye.

First, add the water and the oil and let the oil go to the top. Don’t stir. Drip the food coloring on top. Watch as it drops down. After a moment, it will make fireworks. I’ve made a video on that before. Next, add baking soda and vinegar. Stir.  Add a few more drops of dye if you like. Soon they will rise back to the top like a lava lamp. Now, stir with a spoon lightly, just in the top layer of oil. A cyclone will be formed!

If you want another experiment, lift your spoon through the top oil as though you’re trying to scoop it out. Drop it back in and watch as the blobs flop around.
