The Ultimate Guide for Editing Your Craft Materials

It is always sad to say goodbye to craft supplies, but, like spiders, it is a necessary evil. So measure each item against the criteria on this list.

For Tools (scissors, sewing machine, etc)

Is it broken? (Throw it away)

Is it old? (Throw away or save for sentimental purposes in a separate box)

Is it for a hobby you no longer participate in? (Throw it away)

Did you buy it for a hobby you planned on starting but never actually started (hello old quilling needles!) THROW IT AWAY

Does it take up a lot of space? (If you use it more than once a month, keep it. If not, throw it away)

Was it expensive but you don’t use it? (give it away to a friend)

If none of these apply, keep it!

For Bits and Bobs (glitter, Googly Eyes, pipe cleaners, etc)

Do you use them for only one project? (Throw away)

Did you buy them for a project you haven’t started? (Throw away)

Are they old and gross? (Throw away and buy new)

For messy things (glue, epoxy resin)

Are they contained well? (If not, contain them or throw away)

Do they permanently damage surfaces? (If you actually use the material, create a separate area for messy crafts)

Do they have a bad smell when used? (See above)

Are they toxic to animals or small children? (If you live alone, keep them!)

For big materials (cardboard, wood)

Be honest, are you going to use it? (If not, you know what to do)

Do they take up way to much space? (Figure out how to make it smaller- cut up cardboard bits and chop up wood squares- or throw away!)

I know that was hard, but now guess what! You have room to go buy more craft stuff!
