The 1O day plan towards a craftier life

If you want to be more creative, here is a ten month plan for beginner and professional artists alike to follow in order to become more creative! You can print it out and tape it on your wall as a calendar, or simply refer to this post each day.

Materials:

1 journal (you can buy it or make it. The only requirement is that you love it.)

A few cheerful pens

The will to be more creative

Let’s get started!

Day 1.

Write down ten things you hope to accomplish creatively this year. Then write down three steps for each one that you can take to achieve those things.

Day 2.

Write down one new hobby you’d like to learn. Then, sign up for online classes to learn that new hobby. If you have a class a week, or bi-weekly, you can make some great progress in a couple months!

Day 3.

Look up a list of the best books in the world, and print it out. Check off the ones you’ve read already, and put a star by the ones you want to read next. Then begin reading them throughout the year.

Day 4.

Try a new type of exercise. Exercise can help the brain function better, producing more creativity. Do your new exercise for ten minutes every day, and notice the changes in your artistic brain.

Day 5.

Plan a trip. You don’t need to buy tickets yet, or even ever go on the trip, but I found that researching places and going on a deep dive really got my creative juices flowing.

Day 6.

Buy some child-like art supplies like play-dough and coloring books, and let your imagination run wild.

I personally am a fan of colored pipe cleaners.

Day 7.

Start a book club, art club, or some kind of club with your friends via email. Talk about your favorite books and crafts and get new inspiration!

Day 8.

Organize your room!

Day 9.

Carry a notebook everywhere you go, just in case, for a whole day. See what happens!

Day 10.

Write down all the new ways you learned to be creative, and a list of things you want to learn next.

Happy crafting!
