The Best Halloween Ideas Ever!!!

 Halloween! Yep, in this post we’re celebrating the scariest day of the year! (With cute ideas.)

Here are my top ten Halloween to-dos! 

1. Make mummy dogs! I’m a vegetarian, so instead of using hot dogs, we use veggie dogs. Then we wrap the veggie dogs in store-bought pastry to create a mummy effect! Bake until golden brown.

2. Eat string-cheese ghosts! All you need to do is cut the end of a string cheese into strips. Look at those tasty ghosts! 

3. Unique trick-or-treating! Instead of going outside and trick-or-treating, here is my fun alternative! Have the adults in the house hide in closets or closed off rooms while kids (fully costumed, of course,) dash around, knocking on doors and saying Trick or treat! Then the adults can jump out and hand them a candy bar! Fun, and slightly terrifying. . . 

4. Have a candy bar! What’s Halloween without candy? Fill bowls with different goodies and let kids fill their own bags. 

5. Halloween movie night! Binge watch scary movies until late at night. Don’t forget the string cheese ghosts and mummy dog snacks! 

For our Halloween movie nights, we usually do one cute movie, one TERRIFYING movie, and one classic. 

6. Decorate the house with spiderwebs! You’ll really feel spooky! I lined the house with caution tape to look like a haunted crime scene. Goosebumps! Eeek! 

7. Make spiders! Take a chocolate sandwich cookie and split the two halves apart. Add a pretzel on either side and reattach the halves to form the spider body. Add M&Ms for eyes and candy corn fangs. Attach with melted chocolate. 

8. Halloween costume contest! We’ve done one every single year and they’re always a blast. We have a “fashion show” where each family member parades their costume in front of the others. One person acts as judge. 

9. Amp up the costume contest! Have each family member make their own homemade costume! (Check out my post about dog and owner costumes.)

10: Stay up late! Isn’t the house more spooky at night? Consider making your movie night run till midnight. Even make a contest: who can stay up the longest?
