Best Calming Crafts
Stressed? Never fear! Below is a list of the BEST crafts to do when you’re anxious.
Relaxing, fun, and inspiring, these crafts are sure to help.
. Coloring. It’s not just for kids - in fact, adults all over the world are relaxing and unwinding with a coloring book.
. Lettering. Slow scrawls are very relaxing. I love lettering because if helps with my mixed media books. (See my posts on art journaling!)
All you need is a piece of paper and a pen.
. Finger knitting. I love finger knitting and have made many a knitted scarf. Unlike regular knitting, you can crank out a scarf in fifteen minutes or less! You can also make a bracelet, a headband, or a belt!
Knit while watching television or listening to a podcast.
Watch the following tutorial on finger knitting!
After weaving the yarn, when you have two loops on each finger, pull the bottom loop over the top loop. Continue until desired length. To finish your project, tie the end and cut.. Needlepointing. Also great to do during television time!
. Journal. Unlike art journaling, try writing a simple diary to keep track of your thoughts.
. Poetry. I love writing poetry! Start off with a simple limerick and branch out into haikus. Look up online about rhyme and meter, and poetic structure.
I hope you now have some fun and relaxing craft ideas to put to use next time the stress of life gets to you!
Remember, God loves y’all, and so do I!
